Treatment
There is not a specific treatment or cure for Patau Syndrome as each case is vastly different therefore treatment works by a case-by-case manner. The majority of children born with Patau Syndrome have severe physical abnormailities, and a short life expectancy. Because of this, surgery is usually devoted to making the patient comfortable rather than enhancing their life expectancy – however this is completely reliant on the case.[1]
Children who surpass infancy may require:
· Correctional surgery for physical problems
· Speech therapy
· Physio therapy
· Developmental therapy
